Your patient has vascular changes
Vascular changes are common in older people and arteriolar attenuation virtually universal. Visualisation of arterial changes, such as arteriolar narrowing, and arteriovenous changes require a blood pressure check and treatment if appropriate.
If the blood pressure is normal and the patient has marked vascular changes, refer routinely for assessment.
If the venous vasculature is abnormally dilated and tortuous, the patient should be referred soon via letter as they may be at risk of developing a venous occlusion.
